A Rock That Can’t Be Broken

“For the Lord God will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed” (Isaiah 50:7 KJV).

Have you ever encountered a negative report that discouraging? Did you emotions spiral into worry? Did you feel as if no one understood or could help you? I am sure we all have felt this way, especially I. In these moment when we feel helpless, ‘The Lord God will help you’ (Isaiah 50:7).

Various Bible scholars and commentators imply in Genesis 16:11-14, that God is El Roi, which means God Who sees! He sees you right in the middle of your circumstance. Our part is to make a conscious effort to look at life circumstances without flinching. Set our face like a flint or a rock. Don’t yield to the circumstance, but have strong confidence that God will come to our rescue.

Confidence in God’s ability to help you comes when you often meditate on His biblical promises. Know His written promises in the Bible just as you know your birth name by heart!  And when life’s disappointments stare you in the face, don’t move, stay the course, and be solid on the Rock (God’s Word and His promises)! Be fully confident that God’s promises to you will not let you be ASHAMED!
