The Lord is Your Confidence

“And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us” – 1 John 5:14 KJV (emphasis added).

There is an internal confidence that we possess as Christians.  This confidence is not developed through our everyday endeavors and pursuits in the natural but is something that is a part of us and in fact, is us.  The bible says in Proverbs 3:26, “The Lord is our confidence.”  That entails that we are able to be confident no matter what challenges we face on an everyday basis.  When I started confessing that, “The Lord is my confidence,” a breakthrough of confidence has been arising in every area of my life.  Similar to this, the Bible says in 1 John 5:14, “This is the confidence we have in him.”  The word “confidence” is the Greek word Parresia, which means: bold, frank, and forthright.  Your confidence is bold, frank, forthright and fixed in Christ!
